Preliminary half-day excursion Itinerary to the Winelands
Depart the Protea Hotel at 13:00/13:30 for a leisurely afternoon exploring the Stellenbosch Winelands. The route takes you through the historic town of Stellenbosch and over the scenic Helshoogte Pass, renowned for its spectacular mountain scenery and vineyards.
Our first stop is Boschendal, one of South Africa's oldest and most celebrated wine estates, established in 1685. Framed by the dramatic Drakenstein Mountains, Boschendal is renowned for its beautifully restored Cape Dutch buildings, magnificent heritage gardens, expansive lawns, ancient oak trees, and tranquil walking paths.
Delegates will have approximately 1½–2 hours to explore the estate at their own pace, stroll through the gardens, browse the farm shop and homeware stores, visit the deli, or enjoy a coffee or glass of wine while taking in the relaxed Winelands atmosphere. The guides on the coach will be happy to suggest some of the estate's highlights to enjoy during your visit.
From Boschendal, we continue to Zorgvliet Wine Estate, nestled in the picturesque Banhoek Valley, where delegates will enjoy a guided wine tasting followed by a relaxed cocktail-style Harvest Table featuring a selection of seasonal local produce, artisanal canapés, and regional flavours. This informal gathering offers the perfect opportunity to network with colleagues while enjoying the hospitality and exceptional wines of the Stellenbosch Winelands.
We expect to return to the Protea Hotel at approximately 18:30. Alternatively, delegates may choose to be dropped off in the Stellenbosch village to enjoy dinner at one of the town's many excellent restaurants before making their own way back to the hotel.
The organisers reserve the right to cancel the excursion should there be insufficient bookings. In this event, the excursion fee will be refunded in full.
